It's quite low to the ground but as it's my boy's first big boy bed, so I think thats a positive - Id be worried about him falling off and hurting himself if it was taller. It's also nice and sturdy, so I've no worries about it breaking if my boy jumped on it, although it's not sturdy enough to hold an adult's weight for bedtime stories. My boy absolutely loves it.
